Online/ Campus Education Plan -->This is only required if you are planning to take classes on campus or online. If you are taking any of the above courses that are offered at Mathews you do not need this page.
Please view the steps below to determine if you are eligible to participate in CCP for next school year.
Students are eligible for admission to YSU’s CCP program if they meet the requirements of any one of the three options below. All three options include both an overall and a core HS GPA. Your overall GPA is calculated using the grades for all your classes. Your core GPA is calculated using only your grades in math, English, science, social studies, and foreign language classes. GPAs are not rounded
TEST OPTIONAL — Unweighted, overall high school GPA of 3.0 and core HS GPA of 2.0. If you have ACT or SAT scores already, they can be used for course placement. You might also need to take a course placement test later, depending on what classes you want to register for.
TEST REQUIRED — Unweighted, high school core and overall GPAs of 2.0 and one of the following college readiness benchmarks:
• An ACT English score of 18 or higher
• An ACT Math score of 22 or higher
• An ACT Reading score of 22 or higher
• An SAT Evidence Based Reading & Writing score of 480 or higher
• An SAT Math score of 530 or higher
• A YSU Accuplacer Reading score of 250 or higher
Middle school students will also need to meet one of these benchmarks, no matter their GPAs. Most take the Accuplacer exam

Please NOTE: The Accuplacer exam (also known as the YSU Admission Test) completion deadline is the same date as the application deadline. YSU strongly encourages doing your testing as early as possible
CCP TRANSFER- Students who have taken College Credit Plus through another college/university can be admitted to YSU’s CCP Program by having both of the following:
• Unweighted, overall HS GPA of 2.75 and a core HS GPA of 2.0
• Overall college GPA of 2.0
Students who do not meet these GPA requirements will need to follow the Test Required path.
You can use other universities for this program. Mathews High School partners with YSU to offer classes in house. Other schools our students have used include:
YSU will come out to Mathews High School on January 23, 2026 at 7:45 am to offer testing.
This test is for those students who have not taken the ACT or did not score high enough on the ACT to get into the CCP program.

Application Day for both New and Continuing YSU Students with happen on March 20, 2026 at 7:45 am in the guidance office.
New Student orientation and course placement testing for both new and continuing students will be on May 18, 2026 at 7:45am. Classroom location TBD.
