Private Tutoring

I offer one-on-one math tutoring for students in 6th through 11th grade (IM3 or Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry). If you have a younger or older student in need of tutoring, please reach out to me so I can see if I would be able to support you! 

LOCATION

• If students live in Hanford, tutoring sessions usually occur either at the student's home or at a nearby Starbucks coffee shop or Panera. If tutoring is conducted at the student's home, it's essential to ensure a quiet environment for optimal focus and learning.

• If students are not local to Hanford, I do offer private tutoring sessions online! More info on this below. 

TEAMWORK 

• During the school year, I support students with their homework and test preparation. To work effectively as a team with you, your child, and their classroom teacher, you will need to inform their math teacher about our tutoring sessions. Communication with their teacher ensures we can plan ahead and have ample time to prepare for tests.

SKILL BUILDING

• I help students build and master the essential skills needed to succeed in their current math class. Using the online program, IXL, I assess your child's mathematical understanding and address any knowledge gaps from previous years. Together, we'll address those gaps and advance at a pace that suits your student's abilities and goals.

ADVANCED LEARNING

• For advanced students, I offer tailored support to help them excel beyond their current level. Having likely taught the classes your student will encounter, I can devise a strategic plan to use our time effectively and help them progress above grade level. Using the online program, IXL, I assess their current skills, address any knowledge gaps, and challenge them with advanced concepts at their desired pace.

VIRTUAL TUTORING OPTION

• Although my preference is for in-person tutoring, I also offer virtual tutoring for students who live outside of Hanford. Virtual tutoring requires specific technology and a focused student willing to communicate openly with me to make our sessions most effective. 

• A reliable internet connection, a computer or tablet with a webcam, and a quiet, distraction-free environment are essential. Students must be committed and engaged to maximize the benefits of our time together.

RATE

• Given my education and experience, my tutoring rate is $60 per hour. I do everything I possibly can to help each student to the fullest extent during my time with them.
