BIO
Dr Barbara Jasiulis-Gołdyn is an applied mathematics scientist with
specialization in Probability Theory and Statistics.
She is a specialist in Generalized Convolutions, Risk Management,
Dependence Modeling, integral transforms, Markov chains, Levy
processes and Extreme Value Theory. Since 2016, she has been modeling
air quality and its impact on health and economy.
She graduated in 2004 in Mathematical Institute at University of
Wrocław and obtained PhD in Mathematics at the same university in
2010. In 2016 She defended MA at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art
and Design with Painting specialization.
She gained experience in project management in 2016-2019, when she was PI of the
REINTEGRATION project of Foundation for Polish Science : First order
Kendall maximal
autoregressive processes and their applications, grant no.
POIR.04.04.00-00-1D5E/16. In 2012-2016 she was investigator of the
network international project RARE - Risk Analysis, Ruin and Extremes,
Marie Curie Actions - IRSES, FP7-PEOPLE, Grant agreement ID: 31898.4.
In 2019 she received the Polish Intelligent Development Award in the
category Scientist of the Future and was nominated to Meritorious for
Intelligent Development Award in 2020.
She gave over 70 talks and public lectures in 23 countries worldwide:
in particular invited seminar talks at University of Liverpool (UK),
McGill University (Montreal, Canada), Monash University (Melbourne,
Australia), The University of Melbourne (Australia) and ETH Zurich (Switzerland).
