App Policy
Your MD iPad is an educational tool; the only apps permitted can be found in the MD APP CATALOG installed on your iPad. In order to avoid any confusion, apps should only be downloaded directly from the MD APP CATALOG.
Simply tap the app you wish to download. If it is a free app, it will download immediately. Tapping on a paid app will open a purchase window and you may then go through the purchase procedure. Your iTunes account will be charged accordingly. Please note that Safari is the only web browser authorized for your iPad.
If you download unapproved apps directly from the Apple App Store, even if by mistake, it will be your responsibility.
When unapproved apps are downloaded, you will receive this pop up non-compliance warning and your iPad's functionality will be restricted:
Your device is in violation of the MD Device Compliance Policy.
iTunes, Safari, Camera, App store will disappear from your iPad and you will not be able to delete or add any apps, You will then have to go the Tech Hub in the Library where you will receive a consequence for downloading an unapproved app.
In addition, reports are generated at random times identifying iPads with non-authorized apps. Students will automatically receive detentions when these are detected even if the app has been deleted recently.
