Even under Pathway 4, students still need to satisfy local graduation requirements (course credits, grades, etc.) in addition to the statewide pathway requirement.
All students must take the Keystone Exams, even if they don’t need to pass them under Pathway 4 to graduate. The tests are still used for federal reporting and accountability.
The specific thresholds (scores, what counts as “acceptance” into a 4-year college, which courses are accepted, etc.) may vary a bit depending on your school district or institution. Always check with your guidance counselor or school to confirm which alternative assessments they accept.
Advanced Coursework / Exams
AP exams (score of 3 or higher) in those Keystone subject areas not proficient.
IB exams (score of 4 or higher) in those Keystone content areas.
Concurrent enrollment / dual-enrollment courses in those subject areas.
Other Options
Successful completion of a pre-apprenticeship program (if relevant and approved)
Acceptance into a 4-year nonprofit institution of higher education with evidence that you can do college-level work in those subject areas.
