Homework Policy:
ELA homework is given each Monday and is due on Friday's.
Extensions can be requested for students in certain circumstances.
Students will occasionally have opportunities to work on homework in the beginning and end of each day.
Why do you need me to sign my child's homework?
Having a parent or guardian signature on homework helps ensure that there is a connection between home and school.
It lets me know that you've had the chance to see what your child is working on and that they've completed the assignment with care.
This builds accountability for the student and opens opportunities for you to support them if they're struggling or need extra help.
What happens if my child turns their homework without a parent signature?
If homework is turned in without a signature, the student may be asked to bring it back signed the next day.
While it won't necessarily be marked late right away, repeated missing signatures might lead to follow-up communication, just so we can make sure everyone stays on the same page and your child continues to succeed.
