Graduation Requirements
FAFSA COMPLETION (beginning with the Class of 2021)
Beginning with the 2020-21 school year, in addition to all other graduation requirements, a student must meet one of the following requirements to receive a public school diploma:
File a FAFSA Application; or
File an Application for State Financial Aid (also called Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid)
File a waiver/opt out with the school district.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to earn 24 credits to graduate.
The credit break-down is as follows:
English: 4 Credits
Math: 3 Credits
Science: 3 Credits
U.S. History: 1 Credit
U.S. Government: 1 Credit
Physical Education: 3 1/2 Credits
Health: 1/2 Credit
Drivers Education: 1/4 Credit
Elective Courses for remaining credits

Advanced Placement & Weighted Courses
The following courses will be weighted on a 5.0 grading scale
"A" = 5.0
"B" = 4.0
"C" = 3.0
"D" = 2.0
AP Biology
AP Calculus
AP Chemistry
AP Language/Composition
AP Literature/Composition
AP U.S. Government
AP U.S. History
AP World History
Student Classification & Credits
Student classification will be determined by credits and not how long they have been in school.
The following classification will be used:
Senior: 18 Credits
Junior: 12 Credits
Sophomore: 6 Credits
Freshman: 0 Credits
Honor Graduates
Each year at graduation, Honor Graduates are recognized. To qualify as a Honor Graduate, a student must have above a 4.0 GPA (Weighted). If there are less than 10% of the graduating class recognized with a GPA higher than 4.0, the Honor Graduates will consist of the top 10% of the graduating class.
