Colosseum

The Colosseum was the name of the oval structure or amphitheater in the center of the city.
The Colosseum is also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre.
It was built in about 70 AD by Emperor Vespasian.
It is still the largest amphitheater, or theatre in the round, in the world.

Why is this contribution important?

Structures today are modeled after the colosseum and used for community events such as sports and concerts.
