When is the best time to join WVA?

Students do best when they join WVA during key transition points in a school year.  The best time to begin WVA is at the very beginning of the year, or the first two weeks of school. Changes in educational placement are a team decision, and can be honored at the start of the school year and the beginning of Semester 2. Requests to transfer at other times will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. 

School start date: Tuesday,  August 18 and Wednesday, August 19* Staggered Start

Elementary Trimester End Dates:

Trimester 1: November 17

Trimester 2:  March 4

Trimester 3: May 28

Secondary Marking Period End Dates:

Marking Period 1:  October 23

Marking Period 2: January 12

Marking Period 3: March 31

Marking Period 4:  May 28

School end date: Friday, May 28
