Originally from New York, I came to this area to attend Messiah University. I graduated from Messiah with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Art. For 6 years I enjoyed a career in publishing, working as a writer and editor for Journal Publications in Harrisburg. Feeling called to pursue teaching, I returned to school to receive my M.Ed. and English 7-12 Certification from Temple University. More recently, in May 2020, I received my M.F.A. in Writing from Lindenwood University and Continuing Education credits from Wilson University.
I taught 2nd grade at Elmwood from 2007-2012. During the 2013-14 school year, I started a new chapter in my career by teaching English at the middle school. I love what I do and consider it a blessing to work in the field of education.
I live within the district with my husband, Josh; my two boys, Mason and Griffin; and our dogs, River and Sunny. We enjoy traveling, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with our friends and family. I love reading, creating, going on adventures, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, being outdoors, and all things coffee! I am looking forward to spending this year with your child.
