I am so excited to have you in class this year. We are going to have a great time learning and growing together! We will read new books and texts, explore new writing styles, have discussions, and present information. It's going to be a great year!
About Mrs. Boltz
Originally from New York, I came to this area to attend Messiah College. I graduated from Messiah with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Art. For 6 years I enjoyed a career in publishing, working as a writer and editor for Journal Publications in Harrisburg. Feeling called to pursue teaching, I returned to school to receive my M.Ed. and English 7-12 Certification from Temple University. More recently, in May 2020, I received my M.F.A. in Writing from Lindenwood University.
I taught 2nd grade at Elmwood from 2007-2012. During the 2013-14 school year, I started a new chapter in my career by teaching English at the middle school. I love what I do and consider it a blessing to work in the field of education.
I live within the district with my husband, Josh; my two boys, Mason and Griffin; and our dogs, Emma and River. We enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, kayaking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with our friends and family. I love reading, art, sewing, camping in our trailer, going on adventures, and being outdoors. Your child will likely also learn that I have an obsession with coffee! I am looking forward to spending this year with your child!
