Leigh Mascalls Academy is very proud of our link with Bereko in Tanzania as part of the Bereko Community Partnership in Paddock Wood.
We aspire for all of our students to be internationally minded. The partnership allows our students to understand the challenges faced by students in a third world country.
In 2027 a team of Sixth Form students and staff will be travelling to Bereko to complete projects in the community and celebrate our friendship.
Mascalls has supported Bereko through:
raising money to buy 3 months of maize to feed students during the hunger months
writing letters of friendship to students in the Secondary School
supplying chalk and other stationery items to support learning
encouraging literacy skills by sharing some reading books for English lessons
Bereko has supported Mascalls through:
inspiring students about how to be resilient
sharing their friendship
providing updates on student progress
