Summer 2017 Presentation to the TN DOE NEPP group. The Action Plan defines partnership goals with a rationale for each. Intended outcomes are listed and described. Specific action steps for reaching each goal was mutually established. Finally, the main deliverable is presented.
Prior to the inaugural convening of the TN DOE Network for Educator Preparation Partnerships (NEPP) in September 2016, the Maryville College Educator Preparation Program (MC EPP) enjoyed long-standing partnerships with each of the 3 local school districts (Alcoa City Schools, Blount County Schools, and Maryville City Schools) and several neighboring districts outside of Blount County (Knox County Schools, Loudon County Schools, Sevier County Schools…).
The process for formalizing state-recognized partnerships began with our invitation to join the first NEPP co-hort in 2016. As a member of the co-hort, MC EPP and local school district colleagues embarked upon a year-long journey to formally establish a shared vision and shared goals. In 2016, our intent was to share primary partnerships with Alcoa City, Blount County, and Maryville City. That effort proved to be overwhelming and not sustainable. In 2017, we identified Alcoa City and Maryville City as our State Recognized Partners and Blount County as the Primary Partner.
The MC EPP worked w/ each LEA to develop an official Memorandum of Understanding that would reflect the unique partnerships roles defined by the partners. The purpose of the MOU is to directly and formally outline responsibilities assumed by each partner (the EPP and the LEA).
