From my Intro Letter...
If there is a big so what in all of this, it is that I’ve earned full promotion and it is overdue. The significant contributions I’ve made to the College in terms of service are not related to partnerships, or that my efforts directly supported a favorable outcome in the 2019 TN Comprehensive Review of the EPP, or that I regularly do essential work of the EPP. The significant contribution is that we have a program to review.
It should be noted that for several years, Dr. Orren and I juggled the major responsibilities of the EPP (responsibilities that were not ours to perform, but were performed out of necessity). Bonnie West, our administrative assistant, assisted us greatly and Dr. Haydu covered the duties of Division Chair. Overwhelmingly, the day to day work of the program fell on our shoulders. I do not know how we managed to do it and I do not know how our faculty colleagues and administrators did not notice the massive tsunami that surrounded us for all those years. It is not lost on me that today our program staff has grown by 2 full-time positions and 1 adjunct position to do the work that Dr. Orren and I were expected to do year after year, day after for no compensation, no recognition or title, and no authority to actually carry out our assumed "duties."
