The IDEA Lab is a faculty-student research lab focused on applying psychological research methods to improve the lives of individuals and families in Appalachia.
Currently the IDEA lab is interested in:
• Reviewing our research methods in developmental psychology
• Evaluating ways to intentionally include underrepresented groups in research
• Finding innovative ways to involve Appalachian caregivers and children in research
• Applying intersectionality to developmental psychology, especially in Appalachia
• Applying community-based participatory research (CBPR) principles to developmental psychology
• Understanding the social implications of aging
• Understanding attitudes on death and dying
