You will sing 16-32 bars or about 30 seconds of the song. Make sure this is a true instrumental version (no lyrics!). You will be emailed a link before the audition with a folder to add the link to your track.
Please see the preparation instructions and suggestions below.
It is typical for a musical theatre audition to NOT sing a song from the show- but sing a song that's in a similar style! Check out our list of suggestions below.
Most importantly: remember to choose a song that you feel comfortable performing and that allows you to showcase your strengths as a performer.
BEFORE YOUR AUDITION:
Make sure to practice with accompaniment tracks. You can find many versions on youtube!
You will sent a folder to add your link. There are multiple versions of instrumental/karaoke tracks on youtube so choose the one that's right for you.
You are encouraged to memorize your song, but it's ok if you need to hold your music.
Make sure you are fed and hydrated before your audition!
It helps to warm up and stretch a little before you audition. Try to find a time to be alone and take some deep breaths to manage your nerves.
RELAX! We want and are excited to hear from you! We have all had to audition before and it can be scary but it's also fun! Just go for it!
