Auditions will take place in the dance studio and the Theatre on January 9th after school from 3:30-6:00p.m. We will begin with a group dance audition and then transition to monologue and song auditions where you will be seen one at a time. You will be seen in the order you sign in. You will perform one MEMORIZED contemporary monologue from a published play, and sing 16-32 bars or about 30 seconds of a musical theatre song of your choice. Callbacks will take place on Monday, January 12th from 3:30-6:00 p.m. You will be asked to sing parts of the score, so familiarity with the music is a must. Start listening to the soundtrack now!
Performances are on May 1st at 7, 2nd at 7, and 3rd at 2.
Tech will begin the Saturday before the show, April 25th and the week before the show (April 27th-30th) tech rehearsals will take place from 4:30-9:00 p.m. All tech rehearsals are REQUIRED to participate in the show.
This production will includes light intimacy between two lead characters. We will work with an intimacy choreographer. Please reach out if you have concerns regarding touch or light intimacy.
-----
Rehearsals may be held Monday through Friday from 3:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. You may not to be called to EVERY rehearsal. There may be a Saturday or two added if need be. 1 month leading to the show rehearsals may be extended to 6 p.m.
The Saturday before the show we have a longer tech rehearsal, usually from 9-6. All cast and crew are required to be at tech- NO EXCEPTIONS. We also have a dry tech the day before (Friday) that we'll use as a line through. Monday-Thursday night will be dress rehearsals from 3:30-9 p.m. Dinner is available for dress rehearsals and for opening night, so you can stay at school until call.
IF YOU PLAY A SPORT - YOU MUST SPEAK TO ME AND YOUR COACH AND SPLIT THE TIME EVENLY BETWEEN PRACTICE AND REHEARSAL (INCLUDING GAMES). YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BE PRESENT FOR ALL OF SATURDAY TECH AND TECH WEEK/DRESS REHEARSALS AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO COMMUNICATE THAT TO YOUR PARENTS AND COACHES IN ADVANCE.
IF YOU HAVE CONFLICTS FOR SATURDAY TECH THROUGH THE END OF THE SHOW OR FOR ANY SHOW DAYS, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP TO AUDITION. WE NEED EVERYONE FULLY COMMITED DURING THOSE FINAL HOURS!

ABOUT THE SHOW
From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, creators of such Broadway classics as Ragtime and Once On This Island, this dazzling show transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love and family.

Stage crew is a wonderful way to get involved in the creation of a live performance! So much goes on behind the scenes of a production to help tell the story. It's also a great way to learn new skills and make friends, while being an integral part of the show!
If you're interested in running lights, sound, building sets, run crew, stage management, or assistant directing, sign up for stage crew using the form on this site!
