Guidelines for the Thesis Book
Chapter Overview
This chapter describes the methods of research you will use to investigate your thesis topic.
First-professional Candidates
Methods for first-professional candidates may not involve research requiring IRB review.
Three (3) precedent studies;
One (1) case study (unless approved by your committee chair, the case-study should be in DC metro area).
Additional optional research methods can include the following. Students should explain their rationale for additional research methodologies.
observation,
behavior mapping, and/or
interviews (requires IRB review)
Post-professional Candidates
Methods for post-professional candidates involve primary research which often involved IRB review.
Three (3) case studies (unless approved by your committee chair, one case-study must be in DC metro area).
Questionnaires or other research methods requiring IRB review. This research will allow the student to collect and analyze self-collected data to apply towards the thesis;
