Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee

The Thesis Advisory Committee is comprised of the Committee Chair and two Content Advisors. During ID 697 or ID 698, students identify members of his or her Advisory Committee. Committee members must be identified by the end of the 9th week.

Committee Chair / Thesis Faculty

The Marymount faculty member teaching ID-697, ID-698, and/or ID-699 serves as the Committee Chair. This advisor provides guidance on the content, direction, and pacing of the student’s work and on progress towards the deliverables outlined in the course. He or she also reads drafts of the written thesis document.

If the instructors for ID-697, ID-698, and ID-699 are different individuals, each serves as the Committee Chair for the duration of the course being taught.

Content Advisors

The two remaining advisory positions should be individuals with professional and/or research experience in the subject matter/practice area of the study. These advisors will guide and support the student in the exploration of his/her thesis question and will serve as advisors for the content being delivered in the thesis study and/or design outcomes.

  • The second content advisor must be a full-time member or part-time Marymount faculty member.

  • This individual will guide and support the student in the exploration of his/her thesis question and will serve as advisors for the content being delivered in the thesis study and/or design outcomes.
