The library is open to serve its clientele from Monday-Friday from 7:30-12:30 and 12:30-5:30 p.m. NO NOON BREAK
Readers services are provided through the Circulation, Reserve, Filipiniana and Periodicals sections.
CIRCULATION
The Circulation area handles the charging out of books for home use and as well as the issuance of borrower’s card and signing of clearances.
RESERVE
Reserve textbooks as recommended by faculty members for the assigned readings in the various subjects and the photocopying of materials are services handled through this section.
REFERENCE
This section holds the general reference materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, manuals, almanacs, atlases, yearbooks and directories, which are needed for locating specific materials or information. Reference books are for ROOM USE only.
FILIPINIANA
Books about the Philippines in the different subject fields by Filipino authors here and abroad are made available in this section.
PERIODICAL
Journals, newspapers, newsletters and magazines both current and back issues are found in this section.
The Library has a Reference collection with a different kind of collections like encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, atlases, and others where you can get help in using library collections, resources and services. Librarians are available for consultation.
Librarian can assist you in a number of ways such as:
Giving advice on the use and interpretation of the library card catalog/OPAC.
Giving advice on the strategies for building bibliographies in your research area.
Conducting library orientation program to new students of the school.
Library research and use of information services.
The library assist the faculty and students in accessing information outside the library by means of referral. When there is a need for a library material that is not available in the Library, the researcher is referred to other libraries. Faculty and student of Maryhill College is furnished with a request letter addressed to the librarian of the school where he/she wishes to visit.
The Library reciprocates this service by allowing qualified researchers from other institutions.
The library has photocopying and printing machine to facilitate research among its users. There are some materials that are not allowed to be photocopied like rare collections and General Reference Materials. The students can use the computer in encoding, editing assignments and reports.
The library provides internet and wi-fi connection for faculty and students to search for needed information.
Documents needed by the students and teachers are send through the use of google suite. A certain page needed from a book is being digitized and send to the students and teachers. Other collection like magazine and other periodicals with important articles are being digitized and added in the collection through the use of INFOLIB system.
