One of the basic library services is the orientation program intended for the faculty and students. It usually starts at the beginning of the school year and continues throughout the year. Orientation on the proper use the library is a collaborative endeavor which involves the support of the administration and coordination of teachers and the librarians.
Information Literacy program (ILP) for pupils and students of Maryhill College is designed to cater the needs of the students to find solutions to information selections and be able to become good information seekers and develop critical thinking in learning. It aims to:
1. understand how to identify needed information and resources available
2. enhance information retrieval skills both print and online resources
3. evaluate information using evaluation criteria
4. help to efficiently and effectively undertake a significance piece of research
