School Based Counseling

John Muir Elementary school based counseling services are essential to creating safe and supportive student learning environments. Our supports encompass social–emotional learning, mental wellness, and positive communication between peers and staff. We believe that counseling supports are critical in creating a positive school culture where students feel empowered.

Through classroom based social-emotional learning, individual or small group counseling, students are given the opportunity to learn skills and strategies that will encourage them to self advocate more effectively, develop skills to identify feelings, as well as build resiliency and social success in school.
