2025-2026 School Year
Spring Semester
MPA 2026
On Wednesday March 25th Advanced Band students along with a few Beginning Band students, traveled to Elizabeth City State University to the NC Band Master's Association Eastern District MPA. Students Perfomed the three songs we had been working on and then had to enter a different room and sight read (play for the very first time) a piece no one had ever seen (it is not published yet, written specifically for state sight reading assessments).
I couldn't be prouder of how well behaved they were and how hard they worked for this.
MPA Rehearsals
Students spent two Saturday mornings and one Teacher Workday morning preparing for this year's NC Band Master's Association Eastern District Music Performance Adjudication (MPA) this is a State Assessment and I am so proud of how hard they worked.

Fall Semester
That's a Wrap — What a Season for RMS Bands!
The fall semester was a huge success — our RMS band students shone at every turn. Highlights include:
Pep Band performances at football games
Festive appearances in Christmas parades and our holiday concert
Two memorable trips:
MIMS students visited Raleigh to see the Carolina Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker — a mesmerizing evening.
IMPACT students attended the NC Symphony Holiday Pops Concert — a beautiful display of professional musicianship.
Students and chaperones had a fantastic time. We’re excited to watch the students continue to grow this year!

RMS/MIMS Bands
Our bands are located in Martin County, NC. We have Beginning Bands (6th and 7th) and Advanced Band (7th and 8th), as well as an after-school Jazz Band (7th and 8th).
We have regular concerts and participate in the NC Bandmasters Association Music Performance Adjudication (MPA), Solo and Ensemble MPA, Jazz Band MPA, All-District Band, and various other community and school events that happen throughout the school year.
To celebrate all the successes from this year, students, parents and families came together on Friday April 11th, along with SCMS band families and MCHS band families to enjoy each other's company and to have some yummy food.

On March 18, 2025 the 7th and 8th grade Advanced Band, along with the 7th and 8th grade Advanced Band at South Creek Middle School partipated in the 2025 NC Band Master's Association MPA.
For the last 2 years our band has chosen music from Level 1 pieces, this year we leveled up and went with Level 2 music.
On stage we received an Excellent from 3 judges and in the Sightreading room we received a Superior rating from the sightreading judge.
Our students worked very hard to accomplish these ratings and I am incredibly proud of them all.
