Diegetic and non diegetic refers to the sound used within the frame of the picture or 'mise-en-scene'. 'Diegetic' is everything we can see the source of, where as 'non diegetic' is everything that is outside of the frame.

Setting a scene and attempting the conventions of the 'Horror' genre within poetry. Students channel their inner Edgar Allen Poe and H.P Lovecraft.

Goosebumps is a fantastic genre study as it develops ideas on 'Horror' while still being school and kid friendly. The focus is on the complete conventions of the genre. Just, minus the blood.

Students are challenged to create a short genre film based on their choice. They must present a short film no shorter than 3 mins using classic conventions from genre and following guidelines set that can be enjoyed by all age audiences.

Throughout term 4, students will use self analysis to pick apart the classic film 'The Goonies'. Using the skills they have learned throughout the year.
