Lesson 06: Set and Lighting Practice

Description:

Working with a partner, you build a room set and use various types of textures and lighting to experiment with establishing a scene. Keep the set elemental (one or two props, table or chair, walls) as in the next scene you will build a detailed set. Think about what you might want to do for your final project.

Requirements:

  1. Design an open set (floor and three walls). The walls must have some type of texture (UV Map of bricks, wood, wallpaper . . .). The floor may be a lambert color.

  2. Add some type of larger prop (furniture, table, counter, chair . . .). This must also have either a lambert or UV texture.

  3. Design a smaller prop (glass, plate, cup, clock, book, . . . something that is about 12 by 12 inches). This must have a UV texture.

  4. Add lighting to enhance the scene.

  • Spotlights

  • Ambient Lights

  • Area Lights . . .

  1. Do at least 3 renders of the scene and save the render as a .png file using different angles.

Deliverables:

  1. Create a Google Doc named "Set and Lighting Practice" with name, class, term, year.

  2. Place at least three screen shots of the scene and props from different angles. These screen shots should be the full render from different angles.
