"Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

Brief Description of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness
The Marin County Office of Education in collaboration with Marin County Public Health and with deep gratitude to our sponsor Kaiser Permanente, welcomes you to Wellness Week Marin!
The week focused on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, a broad term affected by our culture and our life experiences. The eight (8) Dimensions of Wellness are (1) Physical, (2) Social, (3) Intellectual, (4) Financial, (5) Spiritual, (6) Emotional, (7) Occupational, and last but not least, (8) Environmental.
We believe Wellness is conscious, self-directed, evolving, holistic, complex, affirming and inclusive. Each of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness require our attention for us to truly flourish. While there does not need to be a balance among all 8 Dimensions of Wellness, the goal is to find a personal harmony within the dimensions that are most authentic for you. Refining and achieving this harmony requires active awareness, acceptance and commitment.
Each day of Wellness Week Marin, we focused on two Dimensions of Wellness with Friday culminating and integrating each dimension into our daily lives. Participants had an optional opportunity to track wellness activities throughout the week by joining sessions and practicing wellness throughout the day. Prizes were awarded to participants thanks to the generosity of Kaiser Permanente. It is our hope that by engaging through these brief yet powerful sessions, balance for your wellness is achieved.
