Laura Mogannam joins Laguna Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year, bringing with her a strong background in elementary education, family engagement, and community support.
Laura taught third grade for three years as the teacher of record at a dual-immersion school. She has also supported elementary students across all grade levels throughout Marin County, helping them strengthen their academic skills and develop confidence in their English language acquisition.
Before becoming a classroom teacher, Laura spent three years with BACR as a Family Advocate at an elementary school Family Center in Marin County. In that role, she worked closely with families to help them navigate challenges, connect with resources, and create stronger partnerships between home and school. She is passionate about helping families feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to participate in their children’s education.
Laura has also led student groups as a certified Girls Circle facilitator and has provided Triple P parenting groups and individual sessions to support parents in developing practical and positive parenting skills. Her experience has given her a deep appreciation for the many strengths that families and communities bring to a child’s educational journey.
Community connection has always been an important part of Laura’s work. She has taught adults how to use smartphones, computers, the internet, and Google applications, helping them access essential services such as food delivery and transportation while reducing isolation and increasing independence.
Laura earned her B.A. in Design from UCLA and a certificate in Human Resources from UC Berkeley. She also completed her education certification program and master’s degree in Education at Dominican University. In addition, she holds certifications as a Girls Circle Facilitator and Triple P trainer.
Outside of school, Laura enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time at home with her family. She is excited to be part of the Laguna Elementary community and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students and families while helping every child feel supported, capable, and ready to learn.
