Teams
Marin Catholic’s cheer team has experienced fantastic growth and expansion over the last few years. After a brief hiatus from stunting due to Covid, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to not only reimplement stunting - but also add a competition team to our program in 2022. We were equally excited to announce the addition of a JV team to our program for the 2023-2024 season.
With these changes, Marin Catholic now offers three cheer team options for students interested in cheerleading - including both traditional sideline for the football season and competition with an extended season. The three teams include JV Football Sideline, Varsity Football Sideline and Competition. All of our teams welcome both male and female students of all ability levels to try out.
Competition
Our competition team is a three season commitment (Summer/Fall/Winter) to participate in regional and national competitions in addition to sideline cheer at the fall football games. The commitment will be from summer through the end of the winter season (February 2025). While competition team assignments won’t be made until August, the competition season begins with sideline practices on July 8. Competitions will be held beginning in November and conclude in February at the USA Spirit Nationals competition in Anaheim, CA. All competition members will also participate on one of the sideline teams and are required to attend summer camp (for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors) and the competition choreography workshop in the summer.
In just our second year of competition, we were thrilled to bring home the 3rd place trophy in our category at USA Spirit Nationals in 2024!
Varsity sideline
The Varsity Sideline Cheer season runs from July - December and includes sideline cheer and halftime routines at the Varsity Football games. Varsity team members may also apply to join the competition team.

The JV sideline cheer season runs from July - December and includes sideline cheer and halftime routines at in-county JV Football games. JV Sideline team members may also apply to join the competition team.
