The Prince Of Chaos
Juan Carlos García Gutiérrez, also known as, The Prince.ofChaos, grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. He found the world of dance at 19 yrs old, taking his first classes at Scottsdale Community College, being ballet and Hip-hop. Discovering this new form of joy, he was quickly encouraged by the dance community to participate in all styles and jump into the action! Questioning what it means to be a dancer and being so intrigued Juan dabbled in SCC’s program and fell in love with dance for film, color theory and lighting design, the choreographic process, music composition and social media management. As he learned his left from his right, Juan discovered he was a floor baby gravitating very quickly to modern floor work and breaking forms. His movement is a unique blend of athleticism and gestural work but loves working collaboratively allowing him to utilize dancers' individual strengths but not relying on them. His work can be called “Chaotic” but there is always a purpose to the chaos. His works are a blend of contemporary with an emphasis on momentum, swing, and free flow, translating into more release-based work.
Currently I am working on completing my certificate in Dance Technology and Performance at Scottsdale Community College. I am a social media assistant for Third Space Dance Project with continued interests of music composition, photo/videography, stage work. I am working professionally for Rosenkrans Dance, CONDER DANCE, Vo Vera, and the Nhan Ho Project, alongside partaking in students' projects with Trinity Pringle and Tasi Harrinton.
I am also investing in my own personal works currently exploring a solo about leaving my past self behind, a work of unleashing my fire from within and cleansing what I no longer need hold on to and a group work investing in physical theater. Playing with character development and spoken words on stage, a work about control and what it means to have it, gain more of it, and lose it instantly.
