This work originally started as a side project and later was set on Camilia Maldonado and me by the Nhan Ho Project. The work is a part of a series called My Body, Your Body. The project was after the recovery pandemic. Exploring how our bodies could communicate after being away from each other for so long. (August Fall 2021)
A year later I manipulated the footage into a short dance film that was later presented at the Arizona Dance Festival at Tempe Center for the Arts, Hosted by Desert Dance Theater (September 2022)

This was a solo work created out of heightened awareness and perception. Through intricate and dynamic movement, the soloist embodies a state of constant vigalance, exploring the boundraies of their physical and emotional levels. The choreography reflects the intense energy and tension that comes with the hyper awareness to generate a raw intensity in it's significance.

Open Stage (Fall 2022)
This was an exploration with Jessica Vera. The task was how can two humans of contrasting heights create a work of captivating dynamics.
How could capturing a connection between the shorter dancer that's challenged to find a sense of agility and quickness while the taller dancer can emphasize elegance and fluidity. Together, they can highlight each other's unique qualities, finding opportunities to explore physical attributes that's diverse in its human form.

Fall 2022
Choreographers:
Angela Rosenkrans, David Marchant, Leandro Damasco, Reshawn Hart
This Fall we took Leandro Damasco's work to Arizona Dance Festival Hosted by Desert Dance Theater and the performed "Passage" by Angela Rosenkrans at ACDA Regionals hosted at ASU where we place Top 10 Gala then advancing to be alternates for ACDA NATIONALS.
This work was my first investigation at a group project. I had found comfort in a solo or working with a partner, but I wanted to step outside of the performer mindset and only be the choreographer.
This work explores intangible intricate connections and emotions that exist in the spaces between humans. There is a focus on spotaneity and an emphasis on transfernce. This immersive atmosphere to life delves into the depths of human connection through the art of movement.

BlacktinX (August 2023)
Herberger Theater - Kax Stage
In this piece, Juls Tarango and I explore a comedic duet that not only transcends and explores age and time. There's an expression of youth entangled with the mocking of maturity and overall, a play fight of fun that relates to everyone's childhood experiences.
This duet begins with a spoken word dance in which two children bicker about the weather and frolic around arguing about their contradicting opinions.
"Recess"
Choreography: Juls Tarango, Juan Carlos Garcia Gutierrez
Performers: Juls Tarango, Juan Carlos Garcia Gutierrez
On the face of it, Recess should not have worked at all. It was silly and childish with dialog that would make actual children on the playground wince. But then, that was kind of the point. Duet partners, Juls and Juan, set out to create a playful, childlike piece – and judging it by any other standards, while tempting, would be a mistake, particularly since it was executed so well.
This preposterous premise was not only saved but actually succeeded through the sheer force of their personalities and their commitment to the concept. While the duo exhibited no small amount of training and talent, it’s almost impossible to fake exuberance and these two were overflowing with it. Also, if the essence of comedy is timing, both performers exhibited great instincts. While dancers are not known for their thespian abilities, the dialog which drove the piece, however lamentable, was delivered with such clarity and commitment, their expressions so genuine, it wasn’t clear if this was a dance, or they were actors doing a sketch. It was fast, sharp, tight and endlessly inventive.
Just to be clear, I’m far too sophisticated to be taken in with this sort of base humor, but their enthusiasm was contagious, their execution impeccable and they brought me along in spite of myself. The thing that we look for in our young talent is the willingness to take risks, make spectacular mistakes, learn and grow. This was a frivolous piece, but it was performed with conviction by two emerging young artists who are seriously worth watching.
