About Us

The Avondale Public Library System started in 1930 at Avondale Elementary School with only 50 books. But in 1941 the library was closed to the public and could only be accessed by students. In 1959 the Goodyear Community Hall was turned into the new Avondale Public Library, and this location is still open today.

At Avondale Public Library our mission is to empower the community through our free and diverse collections, dynamic programs, and supportive services that promote literacy, imagination, and self-development.
