Area 51 has many different names including: “Paradise Ranch, Watertown, Dreamland Resort, Red Square, The Box, and The Ranch, Nevada Test and Training Range, Detachment 3, and Air Force Flight Test Centre” (Combs). The facility is located in Groom Lake, Nevada, and lies along an unmarked road 100 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is over 35,000 acres and can only be accessed to employees by airplane. This portion of land was taken by the US military in 1955, but before that it was used for silver and lead mining. The US government confirmed Area 51’s existence in June 2013. And in September 2019, 3,000 people showed up on Area 51’s doorstep due to a Facebook post titled “Storm Area 51, they can't stop all of us.”
