This has been another busy week, full of lots of exciting learning experiences within our school community.
On Tuesday, Year 1 came into school dressed up to showcase the jobs they aspire to do in the future. It was a delightful occasion, with each child showcasing their creativity and passion for their chosen professions. The eagerness with which they spoke about their dream jobs was fantastic and it provided an excellent opportunity for them to express their ambitions and understand the wide array of career possibilities available to them.
On Wednesday, Year 3 went on a trip to the Heritage Centre, where they participated in a workshop focused on exploring the local area. This hands-on experience allowed the children to delve deeper into the history and significance of their community. Following this, they furthered their learning by taking a walk around the village to identify and discuss key features that contribute to its character.
This week, we also took part in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day. On Wednesday, we were fortunate to have a couple of members of the local community visit the school to share their memories of that historic day. Their personal accounts offered invaluable insights into how life has transformed and provided our students with a poignant connection to history.
On Thursday, to further commemorate this important event, our school hall was decorated with red, white and blue, and we all observed a two minutes silence to pay our respects.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
