Year 2 had an amazing opportunity to explore the Tower of London, looking at Tudor houses, cobbled streets and even spotting the room where Guy Fawkes spent time during the Gunpowder Plot. We were so very impressed with their knowledge as we looked at London through the lens of the current time in history comparing it to research about the past.

Taking on the role of Leonard—a young boy navigating the long journey from the sunshine of Jamaica to a new life in Britain—they will be capturing his hopes, fears, and first impressions of a changing world.
It is a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to develop their empathy and descriptive writing skills as they imagine the sights and sounds of the Atlantic crossing.
