Visual Arts Scholastic Event

VASE provides a standard of excellence for visual art programs, encouraging creative independence, technical skill, and personal growth.

Tens of thousands of student artworks are submitted annually across Texas regions.

Each participant takes part in an on-site interview with an artist acting as a juror.

Students must discuss their artwork, explain their creative choices, and answer questions about their technical proficiency and original inspiration.

Students are rated against state standards at regional events. Top-rated regional entries advance to the state-level event, where exceptional pieces can earn prestigious Gold Seal honors.
