AB Nicholas Scholarship

The Ab Nicholas Scholarship Foundation seeks to make a college degree affordable for Wisconsin high school students who participate as players or managers in their school’s basketball program. Need-based scholarships, renewable annually, are offered for two- and four-year programs at any University of Wisconsin System school.

AgCountry Farm Credit Scholarship

Scholarship awards are $1,000 each. Applicants must be from an actively farming or ranching family OR must be planning to pursue a career in farming or some other aspect of agriculture such as agricultural extension, agricultural education, soil conservation, farm and ranch management, agricultural finance, veterinary medicine or agribusiness.

American Legion Auxiliary - Dept. of Wisconsin - Scholarships

There are many scholarships available for the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and spouses of veterans who are current seniors, college students, and college graduates.

American Legion Scholarships: The American Legion - Department of Wisconsin offers dozens of scholarships to assist young people achieve their academic goals. There are opportunities for everyone, including students who participate in specific programs (such as baseball, Badger State Boys/Girls, scouting) and relatives of military veterans.

American Welding Society (AWS) Scholarships

The AWS Foundation awards scholarships at National, District, and Section levels. This is a chance for welding students get the financial assistance they may need to achieve their education dreams. Over $1 million is awarded annually to help students achieve their dreams through education. Scholarships are available for students attending trade schools, community colleges, and four-year universities. Students complete one master application for all eligible scholarships.

Andrew E. Goldner ‘Heart of Gold’ Scholarship

In order to qualify for the $500 Andrew E. Goldner Heart of Gold Scholarship, applicants must have worked with children in a professional or volunteer capacity and plan on furthering their education in a child-related field, such as pre-K or K-12 education, pediatric CME/ACCME, child psychology, social work, etc. Applicants must also possess at 3.2+ GPA, be accepted into an accredited college/university, and submit the requested documents.

Archie C. Towle Aviation Scholarship

Open to applicants living within a 50-mile radius of the Wausau area who demonstrate a strong desire to pursue a career in the field of aviation, an aptitude to be successful in the field, and financial need. The recipient must be able to pass at least a 2nd class FAA medical examination for flight training; however, no exam is necessary for aviation maintenance training or air traffic control training. Scholarship can be used toward flight instruction or for any post-secondary educational training in the aviation field.

Arne Engebretsen Math Education Scholarship

One scholarship will be awarded to a senior pursuing a degree related to mathematics education.

Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarships

Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship Program awards college scholarships to childhood cancer survivors who have demonstrated the ability to overcome the difficult challenges of cancer with determination and motivation. Fifty-eight college scholarships are awarded each year.

Bucky’s Tuition Promise

Bucky’s Tuition Promise is a commitment to Wisconsin resident students attending UW-Madison.  The program guarantees scholarships and grants to pay for tuition and segregated fees for students whose household adjusted gross income (AGI) is $60,000 or less.  Incoming freshmen will receive eight (8) consecutive semesters (4 years) of free tuition and segregated fees and transfer students will receive four (4) semesters (2 years). Applicants for most types of financial aid must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or other eligible non-citizen; must be registered with Selective Service, if you’re male; must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student; must be enrolled at least half-time (for most financial aid funds), must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP); must not be in default on a federal student loan and not owe money on a federal student grant; and must not have been convicted for the possession or sale of illegal drugs. All students eligible for Bucky’s Tuition Promise are required to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and are required to do so on an annual basis.

Carrie Crystal Stuckert Memorial Art Scholarship

The family of Carrie Stuckert has created the Dream Pool Foundation, a non-profit organization providing assistance to individuals pursuing education in the visual arts. Currently Dream Pool is offering four (4) scholarship opportunities.

CHS Larsen Cooperative Scholarships

CHS Larsen Cooperative will be offering graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled post high school education students a chance to apply for up to $20,000 in scholarships. The parents, parent, guardian, or individual applicant must be a patron (with a personal or business account number, cash account #000019 is not accepted) of CHS Larsen Cooperative. They must have purchased at least $3,000 worth of goods or services from CHS Larsen Cooperative from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018. Applicants must be furthering their education by attending a two-year agricultural short course program, technical school, a two-year school, or a four-year college.

Church Mutual IT Scholars Program

Provides financial assistance to graduating high school seniors aspiring for a career in information technology and enrolling in a computer science-related course of study at Northcentral Technical College.

In exchange for the education assistance provided, participants agree to work in Church Mutual's Information Technology Department on a part-time basis while in school, and upon graduation, transition to full-time employment, serving one year for every one year (minimum two semesters) of financial assistance provided. This program targets high-achieving high school seniors with an aptitude for computer, math, and/or science. Please refer to the application materials for all requirements and further details.

Clinical Laboratory Science Scholarships - Wisconsin: Awarded to a high school senior entering college with a major in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science. This scholarship will provide $500 per semester for eight consecutive semesters as long as he/she remains enrolled in a Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science curriculum and continues to display satisfactory academic progress. Contact program director if you have a question re: whether your program/school qualifies. 

Cloverbelt Credit Union Scholarship

Each year CCU awards a number of scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are continuing their education at a 4-year college or 2-year technical or trade school. CCU will award $500 scholarships to selected graduating high school seniors from Marathon, Lincoln, Wood, Portage, Clark, Langlade, Shawano and Taylor counties who are planning to attend a 4-year university or a 2-year technical or trade school. To be considered for a scholarship, you, your parents or grandparents must have a minimum of 6 months’ membership in good standing with CCU. Scholarship winners will be selected on the basis of information submitted on and with their completed application. Factors considered in selection include academic achievement, school and community involvement, work experience, education and career goals.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarships

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.

Community Blood Center Scholarship Program

Open to any senior who has supported the Community Blood Center as a donor, recruiter, or volunteer. Use your imagination to submit a creative project or presentation that will educate and inspire individuals to make blood donation a lifelong habit. Submit an essay or blog entry (max 500 words), create a web page, record a song (max 3 minutes and must submit lyrics), or film a commercial/video (max 1 minute), or submit any other creative professional media you can think of! Submissions will be judged by high school staff members based on content, creativity, accuracy, and persuasiveness. The pool of scholarship money available will depend upon 2019-2020 MHS blood drive participation; last year’s CBC awards totaled $1,000.

Connexus Association/Danielle Zsenak Memorial Scholarship

Up to five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors from Abbotsford, Athens, Edgar, Enrich Excel Achieve, Faith Christian Academy, IDEA, Marathon, Mosinee, Spencer, NTC Alternative High, Stratford, Wausau EGL, Lincoln Hills, Copper Lake, Bridges Virtual Academy, Merrill and Tomahawk High Schools. Must be planning to pursue degrees in Business or Education; must possess 3.5+ cumulative GPA; must have participated in a minimum of two extracurricular activities in school or the community.

Cousins Subs: Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship

Cousins Subs is honoring WIAA high school senior athletes who demonstrate academic excellence, sports leadership and community involvement with a chance to win a scholarship for continuing education.

Dr. Gordon Backer Memorial Scholarship

The Eye Clinic of Wisconsin would like to again invite students to apply for the $1,000 Dr. Gordon Backer Memorial Scholarship. Successful scholarship applicants must be graduating high school seniors with at least a 3.3 GPA from a school district in the Marathon, Portage, Oneida, Langlade, Lincoln, Taylor, or Wood counties. Applicants should have volunteer experience and intend to pursue a medically-related field at a 2- or 4 year college or university full-time. Special preference is given to ECW/ECLSI employees and dependents of ECW/ECLSI employees

Duronet Charles Scholar-Athlete Award

This scholarship was established by MC United Soccer Club (MCU) in 2018 in the name of Duronet Charles in recognition of his extensive contributions to soccer in Central Wisconsin.  Because of his passion for the game and his endless hours of coaching, teaching, organizing, and promoting soccer, a scholarship fund was established to recognize outstanding student-athletes. A total of $1,000 will be awarded annually through scholarships ranging from $250 to $500. Scholarships will be awarded to qualified male and female athletes.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarships

500 four-year scholarships will be awarded to the highest-rated applicants through this year’s Most Valuable Student (MVS) Competition. Seniors do not need to be related to a member of the Elks to apply. The Elks National Foundation (ENF) awards over two million dollars in college scholarships, the second most awarded in the country, exceeded only by the federal government.

Equitable Excellence Scholarship

Equitable Foundation has established the Equitable Excellence Scholarship Program to assist high school seniors who are planning to continue their education at a two- or four-year college in the United States by Fall 2022.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. In compliance with Federal law, this program will not discriminate in the terms, conditions or privileges of participation on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability or sexual orientation.

Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards

If you are the child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2018, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2018, AND you are also a high school senior planning to attend an accredited U.S. school, college or university and you’ve taken the SAT/ACT, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship program. (Note: Your Elk sponsor must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2021. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. If your parent and grandparent are both Elk members, you should apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.).

Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin

The Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin, a non-profit foundation of the National Society of Professional Engineers-Wisconsin, is pleased to send you information regarding our Engineering Scholarships. Foremost Media is excited to support a student in their quest to better their lives through higher education with the launch of our Annual Foremost Media $500 Scholarship Award. This scholarship will be awarded each year on June 1st to one dedicated student who is pursuing or intending to pursue an undergraduate degree in Marketing or Web Development.

Grace Alberts Scholarship

The Grace Alberts Scholarship is open to all active Marathon County Association for Home and Community Education members (MCHCE) and immediate family members or current Marathon County 4-H members. (For HCE this includes members, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews of active HCE members).

Hagan Scholarship Foundation

Hagan Scholarships are need-based merit awards of up to $40,000 for high achieving, self-motivated students in need of financial assistance to attend college (EFC as determined by the FAFSA must be less than $6,500). Over 300 Hagan Scholarships will be awarded each year. Recipients must graduate from a public high school located in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents (Lincoln County qualifies). 

Hearing/Visually Handicapped Student Grant Program: Established to provide funding for undergraduate Wisconsin residents, enrolled at in-state or eligible out-of-state public or independent institutions who show financial need and have a severe or profound hearing or visual impairment. Students are eligible to receive up to $1,800 per year for up to ten semesters. 

Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship

The "Heroes' Legacy Scholarships" program honors not only those who have fallen in battle, but all who have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001. The program is open to their dependent unmarried children under age 23. A disability is defined as one that results in the service member being eligible for, and receiving, Traumatic Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) or a permanent and total disability compensation rating of 100%. 

Horatio Alger Association Scholarships

As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required for the state and national program awards).

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

Undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. This highly competitive scholarship includes up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school and the ability to pursue any area of study. In addition to the monetary award, Cooke scholars receive comprehensive educational advising, significant cohort-based programming, and graduate school funding, as well as access to a thriving network of more than 2,600 fellow Cooke scholars and alumni.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) Scholarship program addresses the financial needs of college students and provides extensive, hands-on mentoring and support services. Once chosen from a national, selective application process, Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars receive a generous four-year grant to attend the undergraduate school of their choice and enroll in JRF’s celebrated “42 Strategies for Success Curriculum”. This four-year program guides JRF Scholars to effectively navigate their college environments, explore career options, develop leadership skills, and embrace a commitment to service. The program also promotes the values and character traits embodied in the heroic life of the Foundation’s namesake, encouraging Scholars to positively impact the lives of others.

Kids’ Chance of Wisconsin

This organization provides scholarships to children of Wisconsin workers who have been seriously injured or killed due to work-related accidents. Applicant must be a child of a parent who sustained a work-related serious injury or fatality, covered by the worker’s compensation laws of Wisconsin. Parent’s injury or death must have been a compensable or compromised claim. The parent’s injury or death had a financial impact on the family. Students should be between ages of 17 to 24. Preference given to students who are Wisconsin residents at time of application. Preference given to students entering Wisconsin schools.

Kimberly A. Van Den Elzen Memorial Scholarship

Open to individuals from the greater Wausau and Merrill area (not limited to graduating high school seniors) seeking a profession in the field of human resources. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the community and to the welfare of others.

Kohl Student Excellence Scholarship

It is the goal of the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation to encourage Wisconsin youth to pursue post-secondary education in a public or nonpublic university, college, or vocational/technical college.  The Foundation awards $10,000 scholarships to 100 Wisconsin high school graduates each year. Seniors who are residents of the State of Wisconsin, are in good standing, and who demonstrate probable success in postsecondary education are eligible to apply. This is a competitive scholarship. Eligibility is not limited by GPA, class rank, or any other school or program conferred status (ex. National Honor Society). Any senior who meets the above eligibility criteria may apply. We h Completed means that everything has been submitted, including any letters of recommendation.  When an applicant hits "submit", he or she is done with their work, but the application is not considered "complete".  When the applicant submits, the status of the application moves from "draft" to "pending recommendations", and messages are sent to the 3 people the applicant has identified as writers of the letter of recommendation.  There will not be uploads of letters. They will just type into a form. Once all 3 letters are in, the packet automatically changes status to "completed" and is eligible for selection. This means that the later the students/teachers submit their part of the application, the less chance a letter writer has to complete his or her work before the deadline.

Life Lessons Scholarship Program

Open to students between 17 and 24 years of age, have experienced the death of a parent or legal guardian, and are currently enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a college, university or trade school. Must submit an essay or video on the topic of how losing a parent or guardian and lack of adequate life insurance affected the applicant’s family.

Macdonald Foundation Work Ethic Scholarship

Must be a Marathon County or Merrill area resident. Must be a graduating high school senior or current college student and planning to attend any four-year campus within the University of Wisconsin system. This award recognizes students with a strong work (employment) ethic, with community service and extracurricular involvement history.

Marvin C. Schuette Memorial Scholarship

Open to dependent children of full-time employees of Wausau Homes who plan to continue their post-secondary education at an accredited college, university, or technical school.  Well-rounded person with diversified interests, participating in activities in school and out, as well as work.

Mid Wisconsin Foundation Scholarships

Graduating high school seniors whose parents worked for Mid Wisconsin Bank in a communities where Mid Wisconsin Banks were once located, including: Abbotsford, Colby, Eagle River, Fairchild, Medford, Minocqua, Neillsville, Phillips, Rhinelander, Rib Lake, and Wausau, Wisconsin, prior to its merger with Nicolet Bank. Any field of study – must maintain a 2.75 GPA in first year of college study at an accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school (scholarship will be paid toward 2nd semester studies).

Military Children Program

Dependent unmarried children under age 23 of active duty personnel, reserve/guard and retired military members, or survivors of service members who died while on active duty or survivors of individuals who died while receiving retired military pay. 

Mutual of Wausau

Mutual of Wausau will award scholarships in the amount of $500 or $1,000 to selected graduating sons and daughters of current policyholders. The scholarship is to be used for continuing education at any accredited institution of higher learning.

National Alumni Scholarship

Awards two full ride scholarships and three full tuition scholarships to Drake University each year. In addition, any student who meets all qualifications and participates in one of the two National Alumni Scholarship Days will receive a $3,000 Trustee scholarship, which is renewable for four years of undergraduate study. (In other words, it’s a really nice $12,000 participation award!)

Northern Michigan University Presidential Scholars Competition

The Presidential Scholars Competition is designed for academically talented high school seniors to compete for ten "full-ride" and ten full-tuition scholarships.  In addition to the 20 large scholarships, approximately 200 smaller scholarships (which can be added to scholarships awarded at the time of admission) will be awarded to participants. .

Notre Dame - Leonard Anson Scholarship

Any Merrill High School senior interested in this four-year, full-ride scholarship must fill out an application to Notre Dame.  It is a challenging application and students should be working on it as soon as possible! Students should see their counselor or Ms. Holt for any questions or concerns. There is not a separate application for the Anson Scholarship. Deadline: We recommend that students complete the Notre Dame application process by the first week of December, although the Regular Action deadline is January 1. Again, we strongly caution against waiting until the last minute! Review Notre Dame admissions information for details regarding the different types of application deadlines. 

NTC Promise Scholarship

Seniors who meet all requirements for the NTC Promise, will be able to attend NTC tuition-free! NTC will provide up to four consecutive semesters of tuition-free attendance for qualified students (up to 15 credits per semester; does not include summer semester) who meet ongoing requirements, in addition to individual guidance and support from a dedicated advisor.

Riesterer & Schnell – John Deere Tuition Sponsorship Program: In exchange for a 3-year employment commitment, Riesterer & Schnell will pay 100% of tuition at MATC (Madison Area Technical College) for qualified students interested in careers as a John Deere service technicians following successful completion of a two-year associate degree program. Training is provided through a partnership between Deere & Co., Madison Area Technical College (MATC), and Riesterer & Schnell. All you'll need to enter the program is a high school diploma and a strong desire to learn. You'll team up with Riesterer & Schnell, who will be your dealer sponsor. You'll receive a combination of classroom training at MATC and hands-on training at the dealership. River Country Co-Op: River Country Co-Op now offers fifteen annual scholarships. All fifteen scholarships are in the amount of $500. River Country Co-Op is a company with sales at $220 million serving the Chippewa Valley trade area. We have approximately 600 employees at 32 locations. River Country Co-Op has been in business since 1948 and continues to grow.

Roger & Mary Pukall Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to dependent children of a Pukall Lumber Company employee. Must be accepted to an accredited college, university, technical school, or certified program. Must have maintained a 2.0 GPA in the past two semesters and have record of solid work ethic. Must show financial need.

SAE Engineering Scholarships

SAE offers numerous scholarships to students interested in engineering and related fields. There are also scholarships for current college students pursuing degrees in engineering. See website for scholarship amounts. 

Sierra Pacific Foundation Scholarships

This scholarship program is open to any dependent child of a full-time, Sierra Pacific Industries employee. Applicant must be planning to attend an accredited trade school, technical college, or college. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000 per year based on the tuition of the chosen school, GPA and merit. 

Students of Integrity (Better Business Bureau) Scholarships

The Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin will award ten $2,500 scholarships to Wisconsin high school students who have demonstrated character, leadership, and ethical values. 3.0+ GPA (or demonstrated upward trend in grades) required.

Thomas H. Lutsey - Waseda Farms Scholarships

This award provides financial assistance to graduating seniors who live within 150 miles of Green Bay who are pursuing degrees with an agricultural focus* that enhance rural communities. The scholarship is worth a total of $10,000 (divided in increasing amounts over four years). *Examples include dairy science, animal science, agriculture engineering, veterinary medicine, agriculture economics, biotechnology, environmental science, agri-business but other majors have been awarded in prior years – see website for details. Open to students planning to attend an accredited 4-year college or a 2-year program/technical school then transfer to a 4-year program. Financial need may be considered - see website for details.

University of the Aftermarket Scholarships

The University of the Aftermarket Foundation provides an annual grant to fund scholarships. Applicant must be planning a career in the Automotive Aftermarket, planning to attend or attending a full time program at an accredited college or university, or an ASE/NATEF certified post secondary automotive, collision, or heavy duty technician training program. There is no minimum GPA requirement for UAF awards.

US Navy ROTC Scholarship

VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship

Established in 1947, the Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, nearly 40,000 9-12 grade students from across the country enter to win their share of $2.1 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program. The national first-place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship. Additional scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first-place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. Wausau Area Builders Association Scholarship

Open to graduating seniors from high schools located in communities served by the WABA. Must be planning a career in the shelter industry. GPA of 2.5 or greater required. Must have demonstrated community service. Must have parent or grandparent association with the WABA.

WEAC Region 2 Scholarship

Two high school seniors, graduating from a Wisconsin public high school, are eligible if their parent(s) or legal guardian qualifies in one of the following membership categories:  active member of WEAC Region 2, active retired member who retired from a current WEAC Region 2 local, or a parent who died while holding an active membership with a current WEAC Region 2 local.  The parent or guardian’s membership must be confirmed by the local union treasurer.  In addition, the student must rank in the top 25% of his/her class or have achieved a 3.0 GPA.

William K. Gottschalk Scholarship

Must be planning to pursue a career in engineering or accounting. Open to Wisconsin residents planning to attend Northcentral Technical College or UW-Marathon County for at least two years (scholarship will be paid on 2nd year of study). Current college students or high school graduating seniors may apply.

Wisconsin Association of Housing Authorities Scholarship

One $2,000 and one $1,00 scholarships will be awarded. Applicants must be currently attending or be enrolled at a two year or higher accredited public or private academic institution. A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher is needed. Applicants must be participants or household members of subsidized housing in Wisconsin (either be a Public Housing tenant or Housing Choice Voucher recipient, etc.). Proof of the applicant’s academic institution and certification that they are a resident/client in good standing with the Housing Authority will be needed as well. The application form is short but requires a written essay of 250-500 words. Letters of recommendation must also be provided.

Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association Scholarships

The Foundation of the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers welcomes applications for Automotive, Diesel, Auto Collision or Motorcycle Technician Scholarships. Scholarship amounts vary and may be valued up to full tuition. 

Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame Scholarships

These four scholarships are considered with one application:

Jeff Baum Scholarship / Carl Guell Memorial Scholarship / Robert Payzer Memorial/EAA Chapter 640 Scholarship / Thiessen Field Scholarship

Residents of Wisconsin (at least 2 years) who plan to pursue an education in the aviation/aerospace field, including aviation

business management. Must have a passion for a career in this field, and be ctive in community and extracurricular activities (not a requirement for Thiessen Field Scholarship). Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (not a Thiessen requirement).

Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship

Available to any high school senior enrolled or planning to enroll in any university, technical college, community college in the United States, or the University of Wisconsin-Madison Agricultural Short Course Program. Must have a background in the beef, veal, or dairy industry. Preference may be given to those majoring in an agriculture-related field. Preference may be given to those students attending a Wisconsin school.

Wisconsin Department of Children & Families Scholarship: This program provides scholarships for post high school education and training programs for youth presently or formerly in out-of-home care. The DCF Scholarship Program awards scholarships of up to $5,000. These scholarships are for youth who have been in out-of-home care and are entering a degree, license, or certificate program. DCF has limited funding for the scholarship program. To qualify for a DCF scholarship, the applicant must:  Have been in an out-of-home care (OHC) court ordered (Ch. 48 or 938) placement (kinship, foster home, group home or residential care center) and left OHC at age 18 or older; or Have been in an OHC placement on their 16th birthday and gone to court ordered guardianship or adoption from an OHC placement any time after attaining the age of 16; or Have aged out of OHC placement in another state but become a permanent resident of Wisconsin prior to attending a Wisconsin postsecondary institution.  Applicant must be accepted into an accredited postsecondary institution (i.e., college, vocational or technical program) at the time the application is submitted. Applicant must be age 20 or less, unless enrolled in a postsecondary program and receiving the DCF Scholarship on his / her 21st birthday, thus extending eligibility to the student’s 23rd birthday. Deadline: Not provided; scholarships are awarded in the order that completed applications are received so eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Wisconsin Professional Police Association Scholarship Program

Any Wisconsin resident enrolling in a college or vocational/technical school in a course of study leading to a two- or four-year degree in police science, criminal justice, or a law enforcement-related field – which does not include law school – is eligible.

WPS Foundation Daughters & Sons Scholarship Program

To qualify, applicants must: Be dependent children, age 24 or younger, of full- or part-time active or retired employees; be a high school senior or graduate, or current post-secondary undergraduate; plan to enroll or continue full-time in undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school; have a parent who is a retiree or a current part- or full-time employee with at least one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline (WEC Business Services employees must live in or have their primary work location in the WPS service area). 

Wisconsin Towns Association

Each year, in partnership with Rural Mutual Insurance Company and Scott Construction, the Wisconsin Towns Association offers seven $1,000 scholarships to students who are graduating from a Wisconsin public or private high school and will be attending a Wisconsin public or private college or university in the fall of that year. Applicants are required to write a 500-1000 word essay on a specific topic that relates to town government. Proof of enrollment in a Wisconsin private or public college is required.
