Coach Stecklein is teacher at GLA and has been a part of the Skyview Strength and Conditioning program since 2011-2012 where he has worked with various sports and athletes.  Coach Stecklein also coaches track and field which he has been apart of since 2011 and coached football from 2011-2021.

Coach Stecklein went to Skyview from 2003-2007 where he played football, baseball, wrestled and ran track. He was a 2 time All-Conference athlete in Track and an All-State athlete in Football.  Coach Stecklein won the Al Hower Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year Award in 2007.  

Coach Stecklein attended Colorado State University where he graduated with a degree in Health and Exercise Science and later got his Masters in Health and Wellness.  His focus of study was strength and conditioning, which landed him opportunities as a strength and conditioning coach/intern with Rocky Mountain High School, the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Dodgers before returning to Mapleton.

Arvada West High School Graduate and Graduate of Colorado State University. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

Coached Arvada West football from 2011-2015, 2017-2021 where he coached defensive line and linebackers and was the head JV coach. Coached at Golden High School in 2016 as the Linebacker coach and the head JV coach. 

Coached Shot and Discus at Arvada West from 2013-2016, 2018-2021. Had one thrower qualify for state in back to back years placing as high as 6th, earning 2nd team all state honors, and had throwers finish top 3 in league with one being league champion in shotput and another earning honorable mention all league. 3 throwers have moved on to compete at the collegiate level.
