Chapter Activities
National Convention
This is a very big event for FFA members. There are many ups and downs on attending this event. If you are comfortable spending 3/4 of the trip sleeping and riding on a tour bus this trip is for you. The of 1/4 of the trip includes tours of businesses and actually going to convention where there are approximately 70,000 FFA members from across the United States.
State Convention
This event takes place at the Iowa State University Campus. Mainly this event takes place in Hilton Coliseum where there are many things to see and do. Where you can see everything from workshops to contests taking place.
Trapshoot
Come to the Manson Gun Club with your choice of shotgun and see how good of a shot you are when the clay pigeons start to fly
Soil Judging
Take an Adventure into a hole in a different county and see if you can determine what soil types are in there. Then you are judged to see if your examinations were correct
Drive your tractor to school
You and your fellow FFA member drive their tractors down main street to school to show their FFA spirit. Then when you get to school you take a group picture
FFA Week
FFA week is a full week of FFA fun. You can do anything from pedal tractor races to flannel friday.
Farm Progress Show
Travel to Boone Iowa and go walk around the farm progress show. Collect cool souvenirs and see the new farm technological advancements
Livestock Judging
Take a trip to local county fairs and go judge livestock based on their appearance and muscle structure
Skiing Trip
This was the second annual MNW FFA Skiing Trip. This took place on the 19th of February at 7 oaks in Boone, Iowa. 21 members went to this event.
Bowling Trip
This is a yearly MNW FFA bowling trip. This took place at Family Bowling Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
