Fourth graders begin their year studying the art of America. We travel from the west coast to the great plains to central and south america and take time to notice how the Native people of the Americas reflect their history and their family and tell stories through their art. Pictured here are "Lienzos" or maps that describe an important journey taken with our families, and Tlingit inspired animals (from Chillkat weavings). Not pictured is our winter count, that chronicles important events from throughout the year. Lastly some Giacometti sculptures burst on the scene, not related to the theme, but a whole lot of fun to make.
