At Mangum Motorsports Detailing, ceramic coating is never treated as a simple add-on service. We do not offer ceramic coatings by themselves. Every coating we install is paired with the proper level of exterior detailing and paint correction.

We take this approach because a ceramic coating is not a magic fix—it is a permanent protective layer that bonds to the paint and locks in whatever condition the surface is in at the moment it is applied. If the paint still contains swirl marks, oxidation, embedded contamination, or other defects, those imperfections will be sealed underneath the coating.

That is not a result we are willing to put our name on.

Before any coating is installed, every vehicle goes through a comprehensive preparation process designed to create the ideal surface for bonding and long-term performance. This process typically includes:

• Thorough exterior cleaning and chemical decontamination
• Clay treatment to remove embedded contaminants
• Paint correction to eliminate swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation
• Panel preparation to remove oils and polishing residues
• Careful inspection under proper lighting before coating installation

This level of preparation ensures the coating bonds properly and protects clean, corrected, and refined paint—which is the only way ceramic coatings can achieve their true durability and performance.

Unfortunately, many detailing shops apply ceramic coatings without performing proper preparation or correction. In some cases, coatings are installed immediately after a basic wash or quick polish. While this may save time and reduce cost, it often leads to coatings that fail early, perform poorly, or trap paint defects permanently under the coating layer.

When people say their ceramic coating “didn’t last,” improper preparation is often the reason.

At Mangum Motorsports, our philosophy is different. We focus on process, precision, and long-term results. Ceramic coatings are installed only after the paint has been properly restored and prepared, ensuring the finish not only lasts—but looks exceptional from the moment it leaves our shop.
