Koru Class - 2022

Welcome to the Koru class site for 2022!

We have 22 students in our class at Mangonui School. We are all Year two students.

Our kaiako is Miss Maihi and our kaimahi is Sue. On this site you will find some of the resources we use at school, our weekly timetable and the focus of some of our learning too. There are even some cool photos of us as well.

Thanks for visiting!

Important information

  • Seesaw is the main way that we share our learning in Koru class. Don't forget to connect to your child's journal. You can also share the QR code to your child's journal with as many whanau members as you like.

  • Homework - Two reading books will be sent home each week. We read the same book over two days at school. If you would like an extra book for the weekend, just let Miss Maihi know. We write the book titles and any important notes in the student's yellow books. Feel free to write us notes about how your child's reading is going at home too! We love to hear from whanau.

  • Library day is Friday- Students can take two books home from the library each week. We return and issue new books each week.

  • Miss Maihi will send resources to be used at home when needed / requested.

  • We have school lunches so students only need to bring morning tea to school (unless you have opted out on the form and your child brings their own lunch too).

  • You can contact Miss Maihi via email, mobile, Seesaw messages, or pop into school for a chat.

EOTC trips

Rangikapiti pā is a special place for Mangonui School. We love heading up to this maunga and having a korero about the amazing stories and history of this area. Here we are as a junior school on one of our trips. EOTC trips are an important part of our learning at Mangonui School.

Tuakana / Teina

At Mangonui School, we have lots of opportunities to learn with our tuakana / teina. During Matariki, Koru class was able to spend time with Nga Ringa and Taniwha tamariki creating some beautifully woven mats and colourful stars.
