About: Design the cover for the yearbook!

Ages: 4-12 yrs old or Kindergarten to 5th Grade

Artwork Due: April 5th, 2021

Earnings/Winnings:

Your original artwork will go on the cover of the 2020/2021 yearbook! And you will receive a $10 gift card to Fahrenheit Coffee Roasters!

ABOUT:

Theme: How has Covid-19 influenced or changed your life for the better?

Rules:

• Must fit the theme

• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be chosen

• Must be an original work of art. (No printed out color sheets)

• 2D artwork only; No 3D submissions will be accepted.

• ONE entry per person

• Mount or Matte artwork; see Miss Alys for help.

• Must attach a submission form with artwork; these are posted outside the art-room.

• Contestants name must NOT appear on the front of the work.

• There is no size limit, or material requirement; though it MUST be 2D.

• Original Digital Art pieces are accepted.

About: bike race which will be held Saturday, May 8th, 2021.

This is a premier 12 hour endurance mountain bike race which draws over 800 racers each year. Our 2019 race donated over $60,000.00 to youth in our community. Due to Covid our 2020 race was cancelled so we are working extra hard to ensure we can have our race this year. Each year we like to have our area High School artists design a poster to give to the racers and post around town prior to the race. We are asking the high school art classes to help us again design the artwork for this poster. We are repurposing our 2020 theme since we had all but a few things finalized. We are always pleased and excited to see what creative new ideas the kids come up with. The designs are due March 1, 2021 so they can be printed April 1. The race board will award cash prizes to the top three posters winners from the artists that submits the winning design; $250, $150, and $100 respectively. The criteria are listed below.

Poster size is 11” by 17”

The art work can be drawn or a graphic design in a Portrait layout

It needs to incorporate Mountain Biking

This year’s theme is “Viva Las Vegas”

It must be esthetically pleasing and represent the community and the race theme

PLEASE put your name, phone or email, grade and school on the back of your poster so we can contact you.

We will add to the poster: our logo, the race name and date, sponsor logos and our website address (logo & ideas can be viewed at 12hoursofmesaverde.com) so be sure space is made available for these items.

ALL posters will be posted at the venue race day and the cash awards will be given at the end of the race during the award ceremony. We would like ALL the artist, especially the winners to be present so that we can recognized everyone who participated.
