I have been working on these two paintings for the last three years! I am finally done and so proud of them!
I sent them to my best friend, Devon, in California, and she has them hung in her house! We have been friends for 17 years!
I painted sooo many rocks this summer! In fact! I get to sell them at the Fenceline Cidery in the their art vending machine!
I love doing this, and have plans to make many more mini paintings!
I just realized I have been an artist my whole life. I am sure that surprises some... How could I have missed it? I don't have a good answer for you.
All I can say is that I was thinking about a children's book I wanted to read, realized it was by Tomie DePaola, and then had to search out what I thought was an interview that I had seen as a kid with Tomie. I hope you laugh watching this, oddly it really made an impact on me as a kid. I still think about how Tomie Depaola draws eyes, noses, and mouths, and the cute little sheep!
Enjoy, and I hope you are in touch with those things that called your attention as a child- it is an astounding, and relieving experience.
(There is a part two, and yes, I watched both with utter joy!)
Also, for those that are curious, this aired in 1993, and I was 4yrs old.
Color me captivated!
Created live with some students on the 7th! I think this may turn into something more... hmm....
