Request for Writing Assistance

THE WRITING LAB IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER.

The form below is a way for you to contact the tutors in the Writing Lab, which meets M-Th from 2:45-4:10. You can request an in-person meeting or a virtual meeting.

Here are some areas where we can help:

Coming up with an interesting topic to write about
Devising a thesis or outline
Writing an introduction or conclusion
Drafting paragraphs and transitions
Revising based on your teacher’s comments
Quoting, paraphrasing, and citing
Developing ideas
Looking for patterns of strengths and weaknesses in your writing
Any other concern you might have

Be specific when submitting the form: tell us about the assignment so we can give you the best feedback possible. Consider copy/pasting the guidelines, assignment, and rubric from the instructor.
Allow enough time to get a response and then revise. Ask for help early in the writing process to give yourself enough time to revise, edit, and proofread before the assignment is due.
Check your school email regularly. Your tutor may write back to you with additional questions.
