Dr. Rae Siʻilata (Ngāti Raukawa, Tūhourangi, Fiji) is Director of Vaʻatele Education Consulting.
She was previously Senior Lecturer at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, and the University of Auckland. Rae’s current work focuses on supporting leaders and teachers in Pacific Bilingual/Immersion Education, language and literacy learning, and cultural competency.

Kyla (Ngā Puhi, Fasitoʻotai, Faʻatōia) was a teacher at Tāmaki Primary School from 2009-2017. While there, she was a part of the pilot group for Manaiakalani and in 2015 was part of the Manaiakalani Innovative Teachers Academy. Her inquiry was about Learn, Create, Share could support bilingual tamariki to translanguage and draw from their full linguistic repertoire to create bilingual digital products.
Currently, Kyla works with Dr. Rae Siʻilata to support leaders and teachers in Pacific Bilingual/Immersion Education, language and literacy learning, and cultural competency.
