ABOUT

The Open Frame Film Festival is presented by the Communication Visual and Performing Arts at Malone University in Canton, Ohio.

Founded in 2002, The Open Frame is an annual one-night festival that features student films. Over the past 19 years, Malone students have made more than 150 films - working hard as actors, producers, writers, and directors.

The Open Frame is NOT just a festival - it’s also a student-co-curricular group that offers students support and development as they make their films. We offer equipment, training, resources and mentoring to any students who are interested. Whether you study filmmaking in the CVPA Department or not, you’re welcome to participate fully in The Open Frame Film Festival.
