Consistently hydrate during the day and within the hours before exercise
Drink during exercise to replace sweat loss
Rehydrate after exercise to replace weight loss as fluid
Drink 8-16 oz of fluid per each pound lost during exercise
If so, make sure to add some sort of sports drink during practice and a salty snack to your meal to replenish any electrolytes lost during activity. Good examples are Gatorade, Electrolyte Solutions, and Pretzels.
