Samantha Coombs

A Little About Me:

Hello! My name is Sam Coombs and I am a second year student here at the University of Maine studying Animal Veterinary Science with a concentration in Pre-Vet and a minor in English. I was born and raised in Maine, but love to travel. I hope to be able to do a study abroad program during one of the upcoming semesters.

Outside of the Writing Center, I am often found at the J. Franklin Witter Teaching & Research Center right down the road from campus.

Outside of school, I am often working one of many jobs or volunteering. I am one of the coordinators/volunteers for a local Holiday event in my hometown Skowhegan. My group and I have created this event ourselves and dress up as Santa and his helpers (I wear a reindeer onesie) and deliver individual presents to our local nursing home residents on Christmas morning.

Like most people, I love animals!

Though, probably like the smaller minority, cows are hands down my favorite animal.

I spend almost all my time at the barn (Witter Center). It helps remind me why I chose the major I did and is a cute get away.

It also allows me to reminisce back to the time I grew up my own small, family farm.

I am also part of the Delta Zeta sorority right here on campus!

When I am not at the barn, I can often be found hanging out with my sorority sisters.

They are a big part of who I am and have helped guide me through the crazy maze often called college. They are my number one support team!

As the youngest and only girl back home, these young women truly do feel like the sisters I never had.
