The Shellfish Focus Day at the Maine Fishermen's Forum occurs on an annual basis in late February or early March. Since 2013, EC CooP members have connected communication and resilience-related insights to inform the planning and media documentation to support this event.
Here are previous activities in which members of the EC CooP have been engaged and where the project has ended or the involvement has changed.
The Future of Dams project was funded by the National Science Foundation and is a sustainability science collaboration organized by the University of Maine, University of New Hampshire, University of Rhode Island, University of Southern Maine, Rhode Island School of Design, and Keene State College as well as a host of partners in state and federal agencies, industry, tribal government, and non-profit organizations. The objective is to link science and other forms of knowledge with decision making about dams.
EC CooP members worked with the Mount Desert Island Biological Lab every year to design and implement an innovative interdisciplinary course that trains students in biomedical sciences about communication in team science.
The Sustainable Ecological Aquaculture Network (SEANet) is a Track I EPSCoR grant to the University of Maine to support the sustainable development of aquaculture in the state. Our group has been centrally involved in studying how researchers on this project understand the collaborative process and outcomes and providing workshops to support interdisciplinary professional development.
