For your lab practical, you will be asked to perform two of the tasks/procedures that we have carried out this semester. For each, you will not be performing the entire procedure, but rather just part. For instance, if pH measurements were part of the practical, you would need to calibrate the pH probe and find the pH of one substance.
You will be provided with the equivalent procedure instructions you were given in the lab manual when you first performed the experiment. You will not be asked to perform any of the calculations or analysis associated with the results, but you may be asked to perform calculations related to carrying out the procedure, such as preparing so many milliliters of a certain molarity solution. In other words, we are assessing your ability to come into lab and carry out a given procedure safely, correctly, and efficiently.
You are performing the practical solo, not in groups. In order to maintain some semblance of order in the room, and to ensure that we keep on schedule, your instructor will assign a time slot on the day of your practical.
