According to the source, the Metal Crafts Department of Chung Cheng High School in Kaohsiung was officially established in August 1986 at the school's night school1. In 1994, to cooperate with national education policies and provide educational opportunities for society and youth, the department established a practical skills class - the Metal and Jewelry Processing Department1. The establishment of the Metal Crafts Department was jointly developed by several experts in metal crafts, and was planned by Mr. Wu Duanyao of the Taichung Handicraft Research Institute, Mr. Li Yixun of Taichung Commercial College, and Mr. Lin Xijun of the Fine Arts Department of Taiwan Normal University. With the support of Principal Huang Xiaoyan, the Metal Crafts Department was officially established in 1987 (Education Bureau Document No. 19601). Chung Cheng High School's Metal Crafts Department is the only school in Taiwan to have established this department. The night school Metal Crafts Department of Chung Cheng High School officially began enrolling students in the 1986 academic year, and the first class of students graduated in 1989 (1988 academic year).
In 1997, the department was approved to establish a day school department and enrolled the first class of day school students. To prepare for educational reforms, the department took the lead in implementing a year-credit system, increasing elective courses with a flexible curriculum structure, making student learning broader and more flexible1. The goal is to cultivate students' ability to pursue further education and job skills.
